Day 1 – You CAN Learn To Speak Fluent English

Welcome to the EXLchallenge! It’s super-exciting to have you joining us here. We have all kinds of fun things in store for you. But I don’t want to overwhelm you right off the bat. So, let’s just take it slow and easy.

My name is David…by the way…and I will be your personal English trainer along with several other English mavens who will be helping you out along the way as well. And over the next few days and weeks…we want to help you ‘jumpstart’ your English learning progress.

So, what I want you to do right now is go ahead and set some clear, concrete goals that you want to hit over the next 30 days. And I want you to do this in three very specific areas. I want you to set

  1. A clear vocabulary goal…
  2. A clear structure goal and…
  3. A clear pronunciation goal.

We are going to talk a lot more about this over the next few days, and I will give you some very specific tips on setting good goals. But for now, I want you to just begin thinking about your goals. What is it that you really want to accomplish? Why are you learning English?

Make sure to write your answers down on paper. This will help you keep track of them. At the end of these 30 days…you can look back at your answers and see how you did.

Then once you have written your answers down…go do something to learn or practice the language you are learning right away for at least 15 minutes.

If you want to share your goals with us…just leave a comment below. We would love to hear from you.

Warm Regards,
David A. Bailey, Jr

P.S. If you want more help with this…I recommend you take a look at the Goal Clarification Worksheet that comes with the Elephant Report.

Learning Languages – Do You Have What It Takes To Learn A New Language?

“Can I really learn a new language?” Has that thought ever crossed your mind when thinking of learning a new language? Have you ever wondered if it’s really possible to learn to speak a different language fluently?

Because a lot of potential students wonder they have what it takes to learn a foreign language and are afraid that they won’t be able to understand others or express themselves without embarrassing pauses or stumbling over their words, which is…

Why So Many Language Students Fail To Learn A New Language!

This means that they never even try learning languages simply because they wonder if it is really possible. Every time they think about studying a new language they give up before they even start.

And when they do start, they soon give up just because they don’t understand that there are…

Three Key Factors That Determine Your Language Learning Success

See, most people have this mistaken idea that learning languages is extremely difficult…and that only a VERY SELECT group of people have some sort of natural-born talent for language learning. But nothing could be further from the truth.

Even though only a small group of people ever go on to learn a second language…everyone learns to speak their mother-tongue.

Every Single Person Is Born With A Talent For Learning Languages!

Think about this for a minute. How many people do you know cannot speak their native language?

What person have you ever met or spoken to that wasn’t born with the natural talent for learning  a language and were unable to learn their mother-tongue…unless they are deaf or mute. And even they can learn sign language.

The point being…that if you can learn to speak your native language it simply shows that…

You Have All The Skills And Abilities You Need To Learn A Language

If you can learn one language…then you can also learn a second, a third, and as many other languages as you want. So, yes! You can learn to speak a new language. How cool is that?

If you know you have the talent for learning languages then all you have to do is

Discover Ways To Get In Touch With The Language

You need contact with the language to learn and practice it because that is how you learned your native language.

Listen, language is culture. Language is people. Language is communication.

Which means that for you to learn the language fluently…you must come in contact with the culture.

That could be through literature, movies, music, the people…or any of the numerous other ways that exist.

Every time you come in contact with the culture and the people…you are exposed to the language and are presented with new opportunities for learning a language.

You Have The Opportunity To Learn More About The Language And Practice It

When I mention this…most people automatically think of travelling to a foreign country.

But that is not needed because the internet opens up whole new horizons to the world…allowing you the opportunity of learning languages right from the comfort of your own home.

Did you know that there are at least 90 different ways to harness the power of the internet to come in contact with the culture, the language, and it’s people…

Which Means That There Is No Excuse For Not Learning A New Language If You Really Want To

So, the only thing left is motivation. Are you motivated to learn and practice a new language?

Because if not…you won’t ever seek ways learn and practice a new language.

It doesn’t matter how much ‘talent’ you have…or how many native speakers you know. If you plan on learning languages then you need the right motivation.

You Won’t Learn A Foreign Language Unless You Make A Conscious Decision And Set A Clear Goal

Every time I begin to work with a new student, I like to ask them why they decided to start learning languages.

There are about 20 different reasons why language students decide to start studying a new language.

But the most motivated students are those who want to learn to speak a foreign language just because they love it.

They have a whole different level of internal motivation than those who study because of some external motivation that forces them into learning languages.

When someone is motivated to learn a new language then they will…

Do Whatever It Takes To Learn

When you are motivated, you will prioritize the time needed to study. Your will seek opportunities to use and practice what they need for learning the language.

Which means that every time you hear someone say that they can’t learn because they don’t have ‘time’ to learn and practice…you know that they aren’t motivated enough to learn it.

Fact is, some of the best students I know are busy, successful people…many of them business executives, doctors, and traveling sales people.

But they have learned how to manage their ‘time’ to get the results they want in learning languages.

A Live Case Study Of A Language Student Named Ed

One example is a student and friend of mine named Eduardo. He is a very busy veterinarian and entrepreneur.

Yet, he mastered the art of using his MP3 player for learning a new language successfully.

He simply prioritized his time to learn the language…by taking advantage of spare moments in his life.

Think about how you can do the same. Where could you fit a few extra minutes of study time into your day?

Could you wake up 15 minutes earlier or go to bed 15 minutes later? Could you listen to language lessons on your Ipod on the way to work each day?

Prioritize Your Time

Find spare moments that are otherwise wasted. Harness the power of technology and the resources that so freely surround.

Begin to study and practice on a frequent and regular basis. As you do so, it will become a habit of learning languages.

And habits are extremely powerful because you do them almost automatically and without thinking…which means that you get better the more you do it.

Every time you learn and practice the language it gets easier and you ingrain that habit even deeper into your life.

When you do this consistently, you will find that you don’t even have to really think about the process of learning languages consciously because it will be almost like brushing your teeth. You just do it…

Which Means You Are Learning The Language And Practicing It

If you study just 15 or 20 minutes every day…you will be studying about as much as your friends who spend 2 hours a week learning in a language school.

But because you are studying frequently and often you are developing powerful positive habits that will accelerate your success in learning the language.

And if you are studying in a language course and also studying 15 minutes each day…you will learn even more quickly as you are in contact with the language more often.

You can accelerate your language learning to quickly…

Amaze Your Classmates And Delight Your Teachers

And it’s not that hard. Just find moments in your day where you can begin learning the language and bringing the culture into your daily life…into the things you already do.

If you like watching movies…than watch movies in the language you want to be learning. If you like listening to music…then listen to music in your new language.

So, take on the challenge of studying and learning the language every single day…even if it just for 15 minutes.

Will You Accept The Challenge?

If you can study more than 15 minutes, better yet…because you will learn even faster.

But start off by choosing a goal you know you can stick with and then later add more study and practice time as you can in learning a language.

If you are really serious about wanting to learn a new language fluently and proficiently let me know so I can help you.

Just leave a comment below and let me know what your goals are in learning a language.

Language Learning Fun

Hey Boys & Girls,

Language learning is a huge challenge. So, why not make that challenge fun. You don’t have to kill yourself to learn a new language.

Obviously, you wouldn’t go to a gym and pick up the heaviest weights you could right off the bat. You need to start off slow and build your strength up.

So, why do any differently with langauge learning?

The best way to learn a foreign language is by doing things you already enjoy and having fun.

It is important to build positive habits that will help you learn and practice the language more efficiently. And it takes about 30 days to develop new habits.

So, begin now…and commit to studying a second language everyday for the next 30 days…for at least 15 minutes. If you can study longer…great. But don’t kill yourself.

Begin to build a new positive language learning habit into your life. And then another…and then another. Before you know it…you will reach your language goals.

Keep your eyes peeled here on the blog. We’re going to layout some guidelines to help you get up and running fast.

So, leave a comment below and tell me what language you want to learn and what your goals are. If you have any questions…let me know too.

Look forward to talking with you, getting to know you better, and helping you learn a new language.
